3. Highlights of patient care provided :
§ The department has cytogenetic laboratory which is performing special investigations viz., chromosomal analysis and diagnosis of congenital diseases, needed by clinical departments.
§ Funeral embalming is performed on request from Nationals & International citizens.

Image analysis system, Cryostat, Fluorescent microscope, Embalming machine, Automatic knife sharpener, Direct projector, Multi media projector
5. Major research activities:
v Effect of exogenous melatonin on thymosis Alhpa 1 synthesis and release in albino rats – (UGC funded)
v Ghrelin, puberty, insulin resistance and type II Diabetes Mellitus – The role and
mechanism of action of exogenous Ghrelin in pre-pubertal albino rats(UGC funded).
v Congenital anomalies of central nervous system in stillborn fetuses.
v A study of arterial supply of palate in stillborn fetuses with and without cleft palate.
v Cytogenetic study in infants with congenital malformations.
v A study of anthropometric profile in children with Downs’ syndrome.
v Anatomy of inguinal canal in patients with inguinal hernia and in cadavers.
v Congenital anomalies of digestive system in still born fetuses.
v Effect of stress on protrate gland and seminal vesicles of young rats..
