JIPMER is about 135 km from Chennai Airport and 160 km from Chennai Central Railway Station. There is a train from Chennai to Puducherry starting from Chennai Egmore Railway Station at 06.35 hrs & 18.00 hrs. Some trains also pass through Villupuram Junction which is about 40 km from Puducherry. Kindly check the latest railway time table for details. It is most convenient to reach Puducherry from Chennai by road (bus/taxi).

Buses depart from the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) at Koyambedu (17 km from Chennai Railway Station) from where frequent buses (Express) ply and take about 3½ hours to reach Puducherry via East Coast Road (ECR), and 4 hours via Tindivanam (Grand South Trunk Road - GST) via Airport. Pre-paid autos and city buses are available from Chennai central railway station to reach CMBT. Our official travel agent is also making arrangement to pick up delegates from Chennai airport/ Chennai central railway station on prior booking. Effort is also being made to provide buses at railway station/ airport to transport delegates to Puducherry, a day prior to the start of the conference.

The weather in Puducherry in September is pleasant. Though it is generally sunny and clear around 3rd week of September, cloudy skies with mild rain is not uncommon. The temperature is usually 23 – 32°C and cotton clothing is preferred.
