Pay: The candidates with Postgraduate Medical Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India will be paid Rs.10,940/-, Rs.11,295/- and Rs.11,650/- per month inclusive of NPA in the First, Second and Third Year of their Senior Residentship.
Dearness Allowance and House Rent Allowance will be paid as per rules. The emoluments of Senior Residents having only PG Diploma will be reduced by Rs.325/- and the same will be reduced by Rs.650/- in the case of those senior residents who do not have any PG Degree or Diploma.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
(i) A Registered Medical Graduate of a Recognized University.
(ii) A Postgraduate Medical Degree/Diploma in the concerned speciality. If such candidates are not available in any particular speciality, those without PG qualification but having at least two years experience after M.B.B.S out of which one year should be in the concerned speciality can be considered.
For the Post of Senior Resident in Neurology the candidate should possess D.M. in Neurology. Candidates possessing M.D. in General Medicine / Paediatrics / Psychiatry can also apply.
For the Post of Senior Resident in Plastic Surgery, the candidate should possess M.Ch.(Plastic Surgery). Candidates possessing M.S. in General Surgery/ENT can also apply.
Age: Below 33 years, with usual relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC as per rules.
CATEGORY B: JUNIOR RESIDENT (NPG): 32 POSTS ( UR – 16, OBC – 10, SC -4, ST – 2)
Interested candidates may submit their applications in the prescribed format with attested copies of certificate of Age, Degree Certificate for M.B.B.S, Internship Completion Certificate, Medical Registration Certificate, Attempt certificate for M.B.B.S, Mark Statement of M.B.B.S (Final Year Part-I & II), Experience Certificate, Character Certificate, No Objection Certificate from the present employer (if employed at present) and latest Community Certificate for SC/ST candidates and latest OBC certificate(Excluding Creamy Layer ) for OBC candidates.
PAY: Rs.9,400/- will be given as a fixed salary inclusive of NPA plus Dearness allowance as
admissible under Central Government Rules. Free single Bachelor’s accommodation will be provided subject to availability.
AGE: No upper age limit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
i. A Registered Medical Graduate of a Recognized University.
ii. Should have completed one year compulsory Internship on or before 31st July 2003.

Instructions:
1. (a) Application should be submitted in the prescribed Proforma (I for Senior Resident, II for Junior Resident(NPG)) as in the specimen given below. It should be neatly typed on thick foolscap paper. The duly filled in application along with attested copies of necessary certificates as stated above should reach the Office of the Director, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry-605 006 within 20 days from the first date of publication.
(b) In respect of applications received only by post (by post) from the candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti district and Pangi sub division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, A & N islands or Lakshadweep, the last date for receipt of applications is 27 days from the first date of publication. The benefit of extended time will be available only in respect of applications received by post from the above mentioned areas/regions. In the case of applications received by hand or through courier service benefit of extended time will not be available regardless of the place of residence of the applicant.
Candidates who are claiming the benefit of extended time should clearly indicate in a separate sheet duly authenticated by their signature, the name of the particular area or region (e.g. Assam, Meghalaya, J& K etc), from where they have posted their application. In case, they fail to do so, the benefit of extended time will not be allowed to them.
2. For the Post of Senior Resident, the candidates appearing for the final year M.D. / M.S / P.G. DIPLOMA examination in October 2003 can also apply.
