ADMISSION NOTICE FOR M.B.B.S. COURSE - SESSION 2003-04

Applications are invited in the prescribed form supplied by this Institute for admission to FIRST M.B.B.S. Course for the Session 2003-04, commencing from July, 2003, against the following categories of seats:

1. OPEN GENERAL - 14
2. OPEN SCHEDULED CASTE - 8
3. OPEN SCHEDULED TRIBE - 4
4. PONDICHERRY GENERAL - 15
5. PONDICHERRY SCHEDULED CASTE - 5

Candidates fulfilling the following conditions only need apply:

AGE: Should complete the age of 17 Years on or before 31st December, 2003 (i.e.) they should have been born on or before 1st January, 1987.

QUALIFICATION: Should have passed or currently appearing for Higher Secondary Certificate Examination under 10+2+3 pattern with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English as subjects of study or any other equivalent examination subject to recognition by the Pondicherry University AND must have obtained not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in the subjects of Physics Chemistry and Biology taken together for general candidates and 40% marks only for SC/ST candidates.

BY POST: Requisition for supply of application form and prospectus by post should reach the REGISTRAR (ACADEMIC) JIPMER, Pondicherry-605006 on or before 1st April, 2003, alongwith a Crossed Demand Draft, drawn in favour of 'ACCOUNTS OFFICER, JIPMER', payable at Bank of Baroda, Pondicherry Branch, Pondicherry and the candidate's postal address slips (2 nos.) of 2" x 3" size to send the application to the candidates. The Bank draft should be for Rs.250/- for General candidates and Rs.150/- for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates.

Please ensure that the Bank draft bears the Code No. of the issuing Branch and Drawee Branch, as well as signatures of the Bank officials and the amount written both in figures and words.

BY CASH: The Prospectus and application form can also be obtained in person from the Office of the Registrar (Academic), JIPMER, Pondicherry-605006, on all working days on cash payment of Rs.250/- for general candidates and Rs.150/- for SC/ST candidates till 8th April 2003.

IMPORTANT :

• Candidates must obtain application forms ONLY from Education Section of JIPMER. Forms obtained from an unauthorised source will be rejected.
• Candidates are advised to procure prospectus and application forms as early as possible. If copies of Application Forms are sold out before the last date of sale and the same are not available, JIPMER will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to non-availability of forms. If a candidate does not get the form by post in time, JIPMER will not be responsible for such lapses.

The Entrance Examination will be conducted on SUNDAY THE 8th JUNE, 2003 from 10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. at the following Centres viz: (1) Pondicherry (2) Chennai (3) Hyderabad (4) Delhi 5) Kharagpur and 6) Thiruvananthapuram. The above centres are provisional subject to change depending upon the response from the candidates.

The last date for the receipt of filled in application in the prescribed form is 8th April 2003 till 4.30 P.M. The applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected. This Institute is not responsible for any postal delay. For further details, please refer the prospectus of this Institute.
